Tyrone Merchant, the Founder of READ30 is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, graduating from Matthew Gilbert Senior High School. He was employed by the Jacksonville Electrical Authority retiring after 20 years. He also served in the United States Navy. In 2015, he saw the need for Duval County students to be helped and set out bring together a group of like-minded people.
Joyce Hamilton is a graduate of South Carolina State University. She is a retired educator with 43 years of service in Duval County. She holds a certification in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Waynetta Moses-McGraw is a native of Jacksonville, Florida graduating from Williams M. Raines High School. She was employed with Bell South for 25 years. After her tenure with Bell South she utilized her talents with Aetna, Modis and the Child Guidance Center.
Tameka LaFavor , is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, graduating from Wolfson Senior High School. She received a B.A. of Education from the University of North Florida; a M.A. of Education from Grand Canyon University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education. She currently teaches 4th grade math in the Duval County School System. In 2017, she was nominated as the Teacher of the Year. Ms. LaFavor is also an English Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) professor at FSCJ.
Hayes Boles, Jr.
Hayes Boles, Jr. moved to Jacksonville from Hattiesburg, MS in 1984. He has a Sociology Degree from Alcorn State University and an Accounting Degree from Jones College. He served as a LTJG in the navy for 11 years. He retired from the Post Office after 25 years of service.
